Artist Nicolas Maigret and software developer Brendan Howell have made it possible to watch online snippets of all movies and television shows being downloaded right now in real time. They describe it as “a cinematic collage generated by peer-to-peer network activity.“ The project The Pirate Cinema, was first shown as a physical installation at Montreal’s Sight + Sound Festival in 2013. Both Maigret and Howell are really hoping that the stream will stick around for a year or two at least.
